After being represented in her native Estonia by a small agency called "Baltic Models," Kass moved to Paris at the age of 18. She received exposure on the cover of magazines worldwide, such as L'Officiel and Vogue (France) in 1997, Elle (Australia), Image (UK), Madame Figaro, Numero France, Vogue (France), and Vogue (US) in 1999.
In 1999, Kass strutted down the catwalks for top designers such as Alberta Ferretti, Anna Sui, BCBG, Bill Blass, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Christian Dior, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferré, Gianni Versace, Gucci, Jill Stuart, MaxMara, Michael Kors, Moschino, Nicole Miller, Prada, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, and Valentino. Liya Kebede
Born January 3, 1978. Kebede was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and as a young woman, did modeling in her native country. She has remarked that the modeling industry in that country is quite different from the European catwalks from which she is now seen ubiquitously. In Ethiopia, she had to provide her own shoes for each runway show. While in school at the French Lycee, a film director spotted Kebede and introduced her to a French modeling agent. After completing her studies, she moved to France to pursue work through a local Parisian agency. After a short time, Kebede relocated to New York City.
She has been seen on the covers of Italian, Japanese and Spanish Vogue, V, French, Flair,iD and Time's Style & Design. She is one of a very few ethnically African models featured in major fashion photo shoots and runway shows. She is often used in haute couture and other high-fashion clothing campaigns, as well as Victoria's Secret. Kebede has been featured in ad campaigns including Gap, Yves Saint-Laurent, Emanuel Ungaro, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana and in Spring/Summer 2004 ads for Escada and Louis Vuitton. Kebede was recently named the newest face of Estée Lauder cosmetics, the first black person to serve as their representative in the company's 57-year history. This compelled The New York Times to write an article about how Kebede has successfully triumphed over the challenges that face models of color in today's industry. Kebede has also established herself amongst the ranks of fashion's elite on the New York - Milan - Paris runway circuit. Her big break came when Tom Ford asked her to walk in exclusive for his Gucci Fall/Winter 2000 fashion show. In 2005, Kebede was appointed as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

Heidi Klum
Klum became known for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the Victoria's Secret catalog. In addition to modeling, she has appeared in several TV shows, including Spin City and Sex and the City. She had a role as an ill-tempered hair model in the movie Blow Dry, played a giantess in the movie version of Ella Enchanted and was cast as Ursula Andress in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.
In December of 2004, she became the host of the reality show Project Runway on the U.S. cable television channel Bravo, in which fashion designers compete for the opportunity to show their line at New York Fashion Week and receive money to launch their own fashion line.
In December of 2005, in addition to hosting the second season of Project Runway, she became the host of Germany's Next Top Model, the German version of America's Next Top Model, which aired on the German network ProSieben. The show was a ratings success, but was not without controversy. German feminist groups encouraged boycotts of the show after one of the contestants was eliminated after being told she was "too big". Several politicians also accused the show of promoting anorexia and other eating disorders.
Heidi Klum created her own clothing lines (including one for infants) that were featured in the German mail-order catalog "Otto". She also has designed shoes for Birkenstock, jewelry for Mouawad, and swimsuits - featured in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue - that, for a limited time, were available for sale through her personal website. She also produced her own fragrance, called "Heidi", which is currently available for sale through her own website. She is an avid painter and has had several of her paintings appear in various art magazines in the U.S. On September 27, 2002 she dedicated a sculpture she painted called "Dog With Butterflies" to commemorate the role of rescue dogs in the aftermath of September 11. She has also had a rose named after her, known as the Heidi Klum rose. Heidi Klum is featured in the 2004 James Bond video game Everything or Nothing, where she plays a villain Dr. Katya Nadanova.

Karolina Kurkova
As a child, her height made her relatively awkward and gangly, but that would all change with age. A close friend recognized her beauty and sent photos of Kurkova to an agency in Prague. Kurkova immediately landed a runway appearance, as well as a commercial and print ad. Still, being a model in the Czech Republic did not expose her to what fashion was really about, so Kurková took a chance and traveled to Milan to gain some more experience.
There, Miuccia Prada (the designer behind the famous brand name, Prada) signed her to a contract that proved to be the beginning of her stellar career. In September of 1999, Kurkova's hard work as a 15-year-old model culminated in a meeting with some Vogue editors in New York City. She impressed them immediately and the execs began to slowly groom her for success. A move to NYC and a hectic work schedule ensued. It all paid off when Kurkova finally made her presence known in the February 2001 issue of Vogue. One of the youngest models ever to grace its cover, the magazine helped propel her to stardom. She was now recognized at haute couture fashion shows and Victoria's Secret swept her up and chose her to be a part of that year's television special, in November. Even fashion houses like Yves Saint-Laurent took note of the her and signed Kurkova to deals. Print campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, and others helped expose Kurkova even more, while she headlined the second Victoria's Secret show the following year. The constant flow of work (she is said to have worked 23 weeks straight) was recognized by Vogue as they honored her with the "Model of the Year" title at the 2002 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.
The usual contracts with top designers such as Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel and Balenciaga continued, and a recent tally put Kurkova's magazine cover appearances at 80 and counting. She is revered as much in the fashion world for her personality, which is described as intense and energetic, as for her looks. This attractive attitude leaves little doubt that Kurkova will emerge as a legendary supermodel; even legendary Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, called her the "next supermodel."
Kurkova has been featured in fashion spreads in most major fashion magazines including U.K., U.S., and French Vogue (as well as other international versions of Vogue), Vanity Fair, The Face, and W. Most recently, Kurkova has grabbed the cover of Korea's W, as well as the Greek Vogue. She has worked with well-known photographers in the fashion industry today, such as Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti, and Mario Testino

Kate Moss
Katherine Moss (born 16 January 1974) is an English supermodel who is most famous for her waifish figure, high profile relationships and iconic advertising campaigns.
She was discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas (the founder of Storm Model Agency) in 1988, at JFK Airport in New York City, after a vacation in the Bahamas. Moss then went on to become the anti-supermodel of the 1990s in contrast to the supermodels at the time, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell. This began with her first major cover and photoshoot in British magazine, The Face. She ushered in the waif look in 1997(which prompted much speculation over her weight) with a highly publicised campaign for Calvin Klein, including posing nude in ads for its perfume brand, Obsession. Some have even blamed her for popularizing the dangerous "heroin chic" look. Storm Model Agency lists Moss as being 173 cm (5' 8") but it is widely known that she is shorter than that, around 5' 7". Twiggy, a famous model during the 1960s who is 5' 6", wrote in her autobiography that she and Moss are about the same height. Despite this apparent disadvantage, Moss charmed the fashion industry and has walked/campaigned for such elite houses as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Chanel, Missoni, and David Yurman. Now in her 30s, Moss is still working and has become a "supermodel" in her own right. She has a daughter, Lila Grace, born on 29 September 2002, with Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack. Kate Moss during her waif period In September 2005, after she was filmed while allegedly cutting and inhaling cocaine, several of her sponsors disassociated themselves. However, led by Virgin, work has rapidly returned. In May of 2006, Maxim magazine named her #24 in it's annual Hot 100 issue.l Hot 100 issue.
Moss has had campaigns with major Italian, French, New York, and British designers including Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Burberry, Rimmel, and Bulgari. She has been featured in fashion spreads in most major fashion magazines including UK, US, and French Vogue magazines (as well as other international versions of Vogue), Another Man, Vanity Fair, the Face, and W. Moss has appeared on the cover of Vogue over 10 times and has been featured on the cover of 17 issues of W, including one issue with nine different covers featuring the model. W even names Moss its muse (September 2003 issue). She has worked with the most well-known photographers in the fashion industry today, such as Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, Steven Klein, and Juergen Teller, and is a Peter L "trained" model. She won the prestigious Vogue/CFDA award from the Fashion Designers of America in July 2005 as Fashion Inspiration. The haute couture dress she wore to the award ceremoney was from the Christian Dior fall 2005 haute couture and would inspire John Galliano to create an entire collection based around the nude and black lace dress in Dior's spring 2006 ready-to-wear.
April 2005 saw the launch of the Rimmel London mascara ad featuring a leather clad Kate Moss riding a motorbike through London.
Moss has led ads by Roberto Cavalli; and in the February issue of W is a 20 page main fashion shoot depicting her as Greek goddess shot in St. Barts while on vacation. And she is the cover of the 6 March edition of W and in a 15 page fashion shoot as Marilyn Monroe in the April issue of W.
As of April 2006, camera company Nikon have also signed Moss to be the new face of their new Coolpix S6 digital camera, where the photoshoot features Moss in a state of undress, with nothing but the camera.
Her current contracts include: Rimmel, Virgin Mobile, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Longchamp, Stella McCartney, Bvlgari, Nikon, David Yurman and Burberry. She is rumoured to return to fashion house Chanel.
